About Me
I have always loved handcrafted soap. I couldn’t walk past a body care boutique or specialty shop without coming home with several bars. My keen sense of smell always won me over and I couldn’t resist buying.
In 2015 I endured a potential life-ending illness. I was in the hospital for 40 days and 40 nights (I’m not kidding), I think I see a message in this. I was left with a debilitating chronic health disease when I was released.
During my hospital stay I encountered some insightful events. One treatment required a 7 hour infusion, over 7 days, where I had to lie on my back and stay very still. I had many discussions with the dedicated nurse assigned to me. We talked about life, illnesses, our impact on the planet, and the importance of living with a lighter footprint.
I vowed that going forward, and as much as possible, I would try to avoid or replace with natural alternatives, the multitude of chemicals that are so much a part of every day life. As well, we were expecting our first grandchild, and my daughter was looking for natural baby care products.
In 2016, I began my quest to learn all I could about "natural" body care products. I took a soap making class from a certified and highly reputable, all-natural skin care consultant/boutique owner. I was immediately hooked. I loved that I could research and control the ingredients, their quality, and customize a product to meet a specific need.
After several classes and lots of trial and error, here I am today.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my website. Please reach out if you have any questions at all.
What does NATURAL mean to Nana’s Natural Soap Collective?
It means our ingredients are only sourced from Botanicals, including Sea Botanicals, Clays, Muds, Salts, Milks, Honey, Pure Essential Oils, Steam Distilled (from Botanicals) pure Hydrosols, and, occasionally animal fats (more on this later). Our essential oil scented soaps are subtle and they will not overwhelm your senses. Because they are a pure essence derived from plant distillation, their scent will gradually fade over time.

We only use reputable Canadian (where possible) suppliers, whom sustainably source raw ingredients, and provide the regulated manufacturing safety data documents, product data analysis, and batch traceability to the source. It’s important to Nana’s Natural that we know exactly where our raw materials come from, and have access to the integrity of supporting documentation.
It also means ingredients we DO NOT put in our products
Nana’s Natural does not use synthetic Fragrances, and Oils. In addition, there are no Petroleum based Products, Parabens, Polyethylene glycol (PEG), Phthalates, Propylene Glycol and Butylene Glycol, or Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO’s).
