Are your soaps all natural? 

Nana’s Natural uses ingredients that are sourced from plant and sea botanicals, as well as earth minerals, for example, Kaolin Clay. Our products are free from GMOs, artificial fragrances, petroleum based products, as well as Parabens, Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Phthalates, Propylene Glycol and Butylene Glycol.

What are the benefits of using a natural soap?  

Let’s first look at commercially made soap; which are often made with chemical detergents, hardeners, and synthetic lathering agents. Some of these ingredients can be irritating or drying to your skin.

 

Nana’s Natural handcrafted soap is formulated with quality oils and liquids. Our soap contains the natural glycerin which is created during the soap making process. Glycerin is a natural humectant that attracts moisture from the air to the skin. It’s just one of the things that make handcrafted soap so amazing. Combine natural glycerin with the properties of Almond, Avocado, Olive Oils, Shea and Cocoa Butter, and you have a lovely moisturizing, yet gentle cleansing soap.  

 

Does natural mean safe?

It can, but not necessarily. Many of us suffer with sensitivities and allergies. So it’s very important to read and understand terminology used on labels. Our products are clearly labelled with every ingredient, but if you are unsure, we recommend doing a skin test to be certain.

Can I order an entire loaf? 

Yes, loaves of soap are available by pre-order only, and may take a minimum of 8 weeks to fulfill your order. Loaves must be cut into individual bars for proper curing. Please contact us for more details.

Why do you have a pregnancy warning on your label?   

There are some Essential Oils that are not safe to use during pregnancy. Please check with your Doctor before use if you are unsure.

Are your soaps safe for children and babies?

Essential Oils are not recommended for use on babies and toddlers. For older children please refer to the label ingredients, or our website if you no longer have the label. Discretion for use is under the strict guidance of parents and/or guardians.

Are your products eco-friendly? 

We are continually striving to be as eco-friendly as possible. It is a work-in-progress that we are committed to. Ingredients are locally sourced where possible, to help reduce our contribution to the shipping foot-print.

Do you test on animals? 

No, we will never test any of our products on animals ever, only our humans.  

​

Are your soaps vegan?  

Yes, some products are vegan and they are clearly identified by the vegan symbol on each product webpage. Non-vegan soaps are clearly identified.

Are your soaps gluten free?  

Most of our formulations are gluten free.  However, some may include Colloidal Oatmeal. Please refer to our ingredients list to determine if our products are safe for those with a Gluten Allergy/Sensitivity.

How do I use your soap? 

Natural soap is still soap, if it gets in your eyes, it will sting, and cool water is your friend. Flush your eyes with cool water until the stinging has subsided. 

 

If you experience any skin irritation (redness, itching, hives etc.) discontinue use immediately, flush the area with cool water, and contact your doctor if necessary. Please double-check the ingredients listed on the label, or on our website to determine your sensitivity to an ingredient, and please contact us.

My soap seems to melt away, how can I make it last longer? 

Any soap will melt away if it sits in water. Your soap should be allowed to fully dry between uses and this is best achieved using a soap dish that has drainage. Look for a dish that has a raised, or bumpy surface which allows the soap to sit above any excess water on the dish.

How do I store my extra soaps? 

Soap is like a fine bottle of wine, as it ages, it gets better! And like wine, soap does need to be stored properly. Leave your bars unwrapped (not in a zip lock bag), with the label intact (for ingredients) and store in a cool, dry, dark place. This will also help retain the natural botanical colours. I store my extra soaps in my linen closet or underwear drawer. My soap will add a subtle lovely scent to your linens or undies. The absolute worst place to store your soap is in the bathroom, due to the high heat and humidity.

Can I use your soap as shampoo for myself or my pets?  

Nana’s Natural soaps have not been formulated for use on hair, human or pets.

Do you offer shipping? 

Yes, we use Canada Post, expedited parcel with tracking. Estimated shipping is 3 to 7 business days.

 

Flat rate of $10.00 anywhere in Ontario, and all other Provinces is $15.00.

 

Note: Due to Covid shipping times cannot be guaranteed and may be further delayed.    

 

Do you ship to the U.S.A.? 

Yes, we use Canada Post, Tracked Packet. Estimated shipping is up to 9 business days.

 

Flat rate shipping anywhere in the US is $20.00.

Do you offer curbside pick-up? 

Yes, please select this option during check-out.  We will contact you via email to arrange a pick-up date and time. 

 

How long will it take to process my order? 

For all in stock products, orders will be processed as they are received. All shipments are sent out on Mondays to avoid our packages from sitting in the shippers distribution warehouse over the week-end.

Do You offer in-person shopping or accept telephone orders?

We offer online ordering only through our website. We are not able to accommodate

in-person or telephone orders.

Do you have a wait list and email notification for Out of Stock products?  

Yes, select this option on the product description page. Fill in the form with your name, email address and the soap(s) that you're interested in and we'll email you as soon as they become available again. 

 

Do you offer returns or exchanges? 

Due to the personal nature of soap, returns or exchanges are not possible. However, if you experience any issue, with any of our products, we want to know so we can make it right. Please contact us for any problems. 

 

If you receive a delivery that has been damaged during shipping, please take pictures of the damaged box, and contents if they are also damaged.
